Whenever you go backwards in time, follow the VERTICAL arrow.

When you go forwards in time, follow the HORIZONTAL arrow.

James and Frank start at the present day in our timeline, then proceed along paths A, B, C and D in that order.

Chay originally starts at the present day in HER timeline, then proceeds along paths C, D, A and B in that order.

The second version of Chay starts some time in the future of her timeline (but still within the time window), and travels along paths C and D in that order.
