It's been a while. It's been a long, long time since I last sat down and played the game that single-handedly reinvented the FPS, the game that took away so much of my life when I first got my N64, the game that introduced to me the realm of 3D shooters, the game that spawned PD, the game that has gone down in history as one of the biggest leaps forward videogaming ever made.
How long? About a year, to be precise, since I unlocked Double RC-P90s (how strange it seems to refer to the RC-P90, not the RC-P120!), which was the final cheat I needed to complete the set. A month after that I had a huge Agent crackdown and pulled my total time down to... uh, can't remember. And after that PD came out and it's all I've played since. Having seen pretty much all it has to offer, tasted victory, suffered many, humiliating, K7-related defeats, I've decided it's time to come back to where it all began- the game that first allowed you to be Bond.
Changes! Decent music! Dumb guards can't see around corners! No weapons wheel! Slow pausing! Fast reloading! No-nonsense weapons! Huge boosts! And many, oh so many new strats to discover... wish me luck, folks. ;)
Overall total: 3:45:05. You can see my first set of GoldenEye 007 PRs here. There were no speed records yet: all the times were over a year old.
